The Internship ("stage" in French) can be either curricular (when it gives rise to the acquisition of ECTS) or extracurricular (with zero credits or after graduation). In both cases the forms, procedures and the reference regulations remain the same. On this page you will find the forms necessary for the start of internship activities, namely the “Internship Admission Application” and the “Program Estimate” which has to be signed by the professor chosen as academic tutor. Both modules need to be given to the Internship Office of the Department at least 1 month prior to the starting date chosen for the internship.

Hosting Subjects: The internship is internal when it takes place in a University structure (Laboratories, Centers), or external when it takes place at a Company or a Public Body which has stipulated an agreement with the University and, consequently, results as being in the “List of Hosting Subjects”. In the Section: “Subjects Hosting Internship Activities” it is possible to find the list and the description of the procedure to be followed to stipulate a new Agreement.

Requirements and duration: for a curricular internship, it is necessary to have acquired at least 120 ECTS of the 180 required for three-year degree programs. There are no constraints for Master Degree Courses. The internship has a minimum duration of 1 month if it is internal and of 2 months if the Hosting Subject is external. The maximum duration is 4 months for students registered on a Degree Course, 12 months for Master Degree students and 6 months for new graduates who must, however, conclude internship activities within one year of graduation.

Prior to starting, it is necessary to download the “Attendance Sheet”. You will sign this form upon entering and leaving for the entire duration of the internship.

At the expiration date of the agreed period the internship expires as does the insurance coverage; therefore, so it is no longer possible to go to the company beyond that date..

Of course, the end of the internship must be communicated to the Department by submitting the following documents:

  1. The "Intern’s Final Report" countersigned by the academic tutor;
  2. The "Intern’s Evaluation ";
  3. The "Academic Tutor’s Evaluation";

If the internship is external, it is also necessary to provide:

  1. The "Evaluation of the Company Tutor ";
  2. The Attendance Sheet.

If it is a curricular internship, it is also necessary to provide:

  1. The "ECTS Accreditation request”.

Furthermore, it is possible to obtain a certificate of the work conducted so that the student can insert the experience in their curriculum. This can be done by presenting the “Certificate Request” form.

Extension. Since there are minimum and maximum limits to the duration of the internship, within these limits, it is possible to request one or more extensions. The application must be submitted at least 7 working days prior to the expiration date of the previous Training Project

Interruption. As accurate as the choice of the company, the tutor and, the subject may have been, it may occur that you are doing a job that does not match your initial expectations. If after having carefully evaluated the situation, having acted to change things and bring them to a satisfactory form (talking to your Prof., speaking with company managers), the situation remains unacceptable, it is advisable to present an Interruption Request to the Internship Office as soon as possible. The internship will be archived, after which it will be possible to start a new one.

Program modification. It may be that in doing the internship, it is possible to better define the field of study or even decide to radically change the subject. In these cases, a written request, also signed by the academic tutor, must be submitted. The Office will submit it to the Commission.

Companies, Professional Studies, Enterprises, Industries and public or private Bodies interested in hosting Internship activities, can send a request that can be identified as “Manifestation of Interest” to the DIMEG Director, indicating the type of activity intended to be conducted by the intern.
The Manifestation of interest is acquired by the Internship Office and subjected to verification of didactic adequacy by a referee indicated by the Degree Course interested.
After successful evaluation of the adequacy, the proposer is included in the “Register of Subjects Hosting University Internship Activities”. DIMEG holds an updated “Register of Subjects Hosting University Internship Activities which contains all the subjects to have shown an interest in hosting internship activities having obtained a positive judgment on didactic adequacy.
With all subjects included in the Register, the University will stipulate a special agreement that will regulate the conduct of internship activities for DIMEG students and new graduates.
