MECH-LAB - Mechanical Engineering Laboratory
The MECH-LAB laboratory consists of the following divisions:
Machine Tools: basic research and pre-competitive development of material removal processes, and the study and surface integrity analysis;
Material Characterization: Static and Dynamic Tests, Fatigue tests of traditional and innovative and advanced materials;
Experimental Mechanics: mechanics of materials and stress analysis;
Mechanical Technology and Sustainability of Processes: bulk and sheet metal forming processes; non-conventional EDM processes and adv. sheet processes;
Industrial Design: product development, Comp. Aided Design, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Rapid Prototyping and Reverse Engineering;
Dynamics of Mechanical Systems: hybrid numerical/experimental analysis of N&V phenomena in mechanical systems; vehicle dynamics;
Metrology: dimensional controls, calibration systems, instruments for electrical measurements;
Mechanics of Adhesion and Contact: wear and friction phenomena, at macro-, micro- and nanoscale;
Mechatronics: mechanics, mechatronics and robotics with main focus on bioengineering;
Ergonomics and Certification: study of ergonomic standards applied to manufacturing systems.
